Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Position Purpose:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel systems. This role involves work in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and general building maintenance to ensure a comfortable and well-maintained stay for our guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces for needed repairs
  • Perform basic repairs and replacements including lighting, switches, outlets, fixtures, toilets, hardware, painting, caulking, grout, wall work & more
  • Assist in preventative maintenance tasks to extend the life of hotel systems and equipment
  • Respond to maintenance calls and guest requests promptly and professionally
  • Document completed repairs and note areas requiring follow-up
  • Maintain supply inventory and ensure equipment is in working order
  • Perform special projects when assigned, such as waterproofing, safety labeling, or shop organization

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry repairs
  • Ability to use both hand tools and power tools safely
  • Physically able to stand/walk for most of the shift and bend, stoop, climb and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat/cold, dust, or chemicals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Experience in maintenance or building repair preferred — training available
  • CPR / First Aid a plus (not required for hire)
