Aspen Suites Hotel Downtown Anchorage - Opening Early January 2026
Aspen Suites Hotel Downtown Anchorage is building its opening Food & Beverage team and will be offering a simple late-night bar menu for guests. We are seeking a Cook who will work closely with the Bartender during evening hours to prepare food items efficiently, safely, and consistently. Position Purpose:
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving bar-style menu items, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, managing stock rotation, and supporting the Food & Beverage Manager in inventory needs and kitchen operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and cook simple bar food offerings using basic kitchen equipment
- Maintain food presentation and portion consistency based on menu standards
- Assist with menu item prep work, heating, plating, and timely service
- Work alongside the Bartender to ensure smooth evening F&B operation
- Ensure kitchen, equipment, counters, and prep areas remain clean and sanitized
- Rotate stock, label and date inventory, and monitor product freshness
- Assist with inventory counts and submit order needs to the Food & Beverage Manager
- Wash dishes, maintain storage areas, and complete end-of-shift cleaning checklists
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Previous kitchen or food handling experience preferred
- Ability to operate a TurboChef or willingness to learn quickly
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Comfortable working evening shifts and in a fast-moving solo environment
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 40 lbs
- Friendly, reliable, detail-oriented and strong communication skills
- Must work well independently with minimal supervision
